College-ruled vs wide-ruled

College-ruled lines sit about 7.1 mm apart and fit more text per page — the choice for older students and dense notes. Wide-ruled lines are roughly 8.7 mm apart, giving younger writers and large handwriting more room. Both include the familiar vertical margin line on the left.

Neat, distraction-free ruling

The rules are a soft blue that guides without dominating, and the red margin marks where each line should begin. Generated at exact A4 or Letter size, the sheet prints with even spacing top to bottom and reproduces cleanly on copiers.

What is the difference between college-ruled and wide-ruled paper?

College-ruled lines are about 7.1 mm apart (more lines per page); wide-ruled lines are about 8.7 mm apart (fewer lines, more writing room). Both have a left margin line.

Can I remove the red margin line?

Yes. Turn off the margin rule in the editor for plain ruled paper without the vertical line.

How do I print lined paper at the right size?

For a true-to-size grid, print at 100% scale (turn off "Fit to page" or "Shrink oversized pages"). The PDF is built at exact A4, Letter or A5 dimensions, so 5 mm really measures 5 mm on paper.
