How the Cornell method works

Take notes in the main area during class. Afterwards, write cues — questions, keywords, prompts — in the left column, then condense the page into a sentence or two in the bottom summary. Later you can cover the notes, read only the cues, and test your recall. The layout turns passive notes into an active study tool.

A clean, usable sheet

The template draws a defined cue column, a full-width summary divider and light horizontal rules in the note area so your writing stays straight. A subtle outer border frames the page. It is built at exact page size and prints crisply for a whole binder of notes.

Make it yours

Add a title, name and date header for organised filing, change the rule spacing or colour, switch between A4 and Letter, or print a stack of pages in one PDF. The editor remembers your setup for next time.
